Ahh, it was so nice out today. I didn’t have to work or do anything and just lounged about the pool reading a Bob Dylan biography.
(x the bread by 3 and add another serving of ice cream, and some strawberries..woops)
I made blueberry pancakes for breakfast from a recipe that I bastardized fromr vegweb, it didn’t work as well as I hoped but they were still pretty good.
For lunch I finished the can of soup I opened yesterday and had some carrots with hummus (obsessed!). I also had an apple and a piece of bread with jam. This bread is made in the city by a little deli and it is sooo good and quite healthy.
For dinner I made some falafel from another vegweb recipe “Lazy College Kid’s Easy Falafel”, well I’m not in college yet but I did feel lazy. They were okay. I put them in a tortilla (I had no pitas!) with some hummus, cucumbers, carrots and lettuce. I tried the foil method (Why didn’t I think of this before? They do it at a whole bunch of wrap places, but I never thought to try it until Kath did it.) It works wonders. It was really filling so I didn’t have dessert.. until later. You should probably stop reading now.
I munched on some strawberries and then around 9:00 when I got back from a friend’s house the snacking began. Atleast I now know that my binging is partially emotional because something not so awesome happened at my friends house so I felt like crap and turned to food. No! Now that I’ve recognized it maybe I’ll be able to stop. I had about 2 servings of Cookies ‘n’ Creme So Delicious ice cream, two (big) pieces of whole grain bread with jam and almond butter, 1 bowl of cheerios and 1 bowl of shreddies. The whole time I was doing it I was saying to myself “Stop. You’re going to regret this” but it just didn’t work. I went for a 45 minute walk after to try to burn some of it off (ha, maybe 1/2 a serving of ice cream..). No more binges!
..Oh, I also had about a serving of
. My mum and I stocked up because we loved it so much and now we have 3 containers left that expire on the 30th! I brought one carton over to my friend’s house. Some people bring emotional support to a friendship, I bring flavored soy milk.
Today I had to wake up early-ish (7:00) to go to an assembly at the school. I now am officially done high school. Weird. I got an award for top Yearbook 12 student and a pin (how generous..) for showing citizenship, hahah.
Now on to the foodstuff! I was in a rush so I didn’t take a picture of my breakfast (which was same old, same old, anyways.. ezekiel english muffin with marmalade, almond butter and a side of mixed berries)
I got home and had a snack of a La Tortilla Factory tortilla and some hummus. Then I had a 3 hour nap. I’m going to have fun falling asleep tonight! For lunch (at around 3:00..) I was feeling lazy so I had some Campbell’s Vegetable Fiesta soup (holy sodium, batman!) and some snap peas from our garden. I also attempted to make some hot chocolate since we’re out of mix with unsweetened vanilla almond milk, a teaspoon of cocoa powder and some stevia.. it was.. lacking in oomph. For dinner I had a tofu scramble with onions and spinach, some salad and some rice pilaf my dad made.
I’m hoping my mum will come home in time for me to take the car to the gym, if not I’ll just workout my arms at home and go for a run.
I just found out I have to work from 3:30-12:00 on Canada day. Bullocks! This blows.

One more thing..
Enough said.

A pretty small piece of home made herb bread, a banana with a bit of AB and marmalade (why I thought banana and marmalade would taste good together, I’m not sure) and 1/2 cup of multigrain life with about 1/4 cup of special k.
..and also the rest of the mango. Best mango I’ve ever had, not bad seeing as it has probably been on a truck/airplane/storage crate for a month.
I’m going to try to eat more during the day so my night time snacking lessens a bit. I don’t feel bad about eating all of this because I was truly hungry.
Tomorrow I have to work from 3:30-7:30, and I’m so happy it’s not an 8 hour shift. Next week I have three 8 hour shifts in a row, and their closing too (12:00!) so that’s not fun at all. Tell me, who is going to want to go grocery shopping at Safeway at 12:00 at night?

Okay, I like salad.. a lot. But it has to be a really special type of salad for me to want to eat it twice a day, not just regular ol’ greens and your traditional salad vegetables.
But I’m lazy.
So salad it was! I sprinkled some hemp seeds on it and some bottled soy ginger dressing. Not too bad. The sprouts are home (jar) grown and as much as I want to like them they just taste.. so bitter? There’s something about them that I don’t like. Anyone have any experience with bitter sprouts? I also had a grilled avocado sandwich on Ezekiel bread (Which I opened up because I am a volume eater) with dijon mustard and dipped in ketchup.. talk about class!
For dessert I had a Belsoy soy pudding in caramel which are DELICIOUS and was eaten before the camera could make an appearance.

This is what they look like, except imagine the container is a horrid, horrid shade of toilet contents brown.
I also had half a mango (not pictured).. I wasn’t hungry but it was just whispering my name from inside the fridge “Saraaahhhhh, Saraaaaaaaaah”. Something like that. What kind of accent do you think mangos would have?
See ya later wiff my snack!

Hunger hit really early.. or maybe I’m just bored. I felt hunger in my stomach though, so I didn’t ignore it. At 2:20 (hahah) I had a snack of two medium sized carrots (which I did wash, which the picture seems to disagree with) and hummus mixed with salsa again. Who loves salsa!? ME! I can eat it by the spoonful.. and do. I don’t think I have gone a day without carrots in a very, very long time. Okay, maybe once last week, but that doesn’t count. Someone asked me the other day why my hands looked orange (hahaha) and I didn’t feel like telling them the truth about my oompa loopa origin so I just told them that I ate a lot of carrots. People should mind their own business, and leave my orange hands alone..
(FYI, I don’t think my hands look orange.. I think this kid is just very weird and likes to tell people that their body parts are discolored.. anyways..)

I also had some pumpkin mixed with cinnamon, nutmeg and a packet of Stevia, topped with about a 1/4 cup of fibre 1. Mmm, regular bowel movements.
Can you tell that I have nothing to do today? I’m about to go on a nice leisurely bike ride. The only problem: I live about 15 minutes out of town in a little community type deal (aww, let’s all hold hands) and there are only so many roads. It starts to get boring. I want to move because of this very reason.

For lunch I had a PC World’s Best Meatless Chicken Breast chopped up into a salad with half a red bell pepper, a giant mushroom, some avocado and a dressing made from hummus and salsa. Mmm! I also added some grapes in because they are going bad and WHY NOT? This bowl was huge, about the size of.. a basketball in diameter. For dessert I had some cherries that aren’t as crisp as I like ‘em, but that’s okay. I also had a mug of Yogi Egyptian Licorice tea.. my house is always cold, even when it’s 28 degrees out.

Does the “World’s Best Meatless Chicken Breast” hold up to its name? Well.. its the ONLY meatless chicken breast I’ve ever tried, so I guess so? The texture was spot on (A little eerily actually..) and the taste was pretty good. I didn’t add any seasonings to it because it says it’s already seasoned but next time I will, as it was a little plain. I’d give these about 7 cute little baby chicks out of 10.

Lets play “Spot the chicken breast!” .. nope that’s not it! Keep on trying! You may want to order a pizza because this could take a while.
Just had a really good work-out on the treadmill using a routine from Carrots and Cake. I switched it up a little because I have to be constantly changing the pace otherwise I get really bored but in general it was:
0:00-3:00 – 4.0 MPH
3:00-6:00 – 6.0
6:00-6:30 – 8.0
6:30-7:30 – 6.5
7:30-10:30 – 6.0
10:30-11:30 – 7.0
11:30-16:30 – 6.5
16:30-18:30 – 7.5
18:30-19:30 – 6.5
19:30-20:00 – 8.0
x2
Pretty much the same as hers with a few slight differences like a thirty second sprint at the end added in. Including the cool down it came to 4.4 miles and according to the calculator at Runner’s World it burned about 373 calories. I’m feeling a little better about my binge last night. Today is a new day!
..and I just realized that the word “runner” looks really weird.

For breakfast I had a plain ezekiel english muffin with orange marmalade (which claims to have 15% DV of vitamin c for tablespoon.. hmm..) on one side and about half a teaspoon of AB on the other. I chopped up a medium sized banana and drizzled it all with some sugar free maple syrup. After I finish this bottle of sf maple syrup I don’t plan on buying anymore.
Even after last nights HUGE binge I woke up hungry. What’s up metabolism? The scale says I weight 5 pounds heavier but I know it’s not physically possible I gained that much and that it’s just the weight of the food, water retention and all that jazz. My stomach seems to have a perma-bloat now a days
Well I’m off to try to fix some of the damage I caused last night with a run on the treadmill. See you for lunch.. non existent readers..

Three binges in one day? That has to be some sort of record. I don’t even want to know the amount of calories I just consumed.. or write it all out because it’s embarassing. I probably hit atleast 5,000 today. Why do I do this?
I need to stop. My skin is starting to hate me again, my belly is always bloated, my face is starting to get realllly round. No more.
Next time I feel a binge come around I will:
(1) Brush my teeth.. if that doesn’t work..
(2) Pop in a piece of gum and if I still want to bloat myself up..
(3) Leave the house immediately (pretend there’s a fire and run like the wind!)
It needs to stop. I hate how this started, and right around bathing suit reason too? God has an odd sense of humor.
